Cash bill or GST bill?
Most counter sales need only a cash bill: shop name, bill number, date, items, total. If you are GST registered, the bill becomes a tax invoice and needs GSTIN, HSN and tax lines. Many shops keep both: a quick cash memo for walk-ins and a GST bill when a business customer asks.
The same layout works for kirana, general stores, hardware, stationery, garments, tailors and xerox shops. Only the items change.
