Transport bills and lorry receipts
A transporter issues a lorry receipt (LR, also called a consignment note) when goods are loaded, and then a freight bill to the party that pays. The bill refers to the LR number, route, weight or truck load and the freight agreed, plus any loading, unloading, detention or halting charges.
GST on goods transport agency services can work under forward charge or reverse charge depending on the transporter choice and the customer. Mention clearly on the bill which applies.

Is a delivery challan the same as a lorry receipt?
