What a restaurant bill shows

A restaurant bill is a short tax invoice (or plain bill if not registered): the restaurant details, a bill number, date and time, table or order number, each item with quantity and price, the tax, and the total. Many restaurants also print the server name and number of covers.

Restaurant service GST depends on the type of restaurant and whether it is in a hotel. Show the rate that applies to you; the sample below is only an illustration.

Catering bill format

Caterers bill per plate or per event. Put the event name and date in the customer section, then lines such as “Lunch, 150 plates at 420”, “Live counter”, “Service staff, 6”. Ask for an advance and show it as paid. The quotation format is useful to agree the menu and rate first.
