Each sheet has twelve item rows, a discount column, and formulas for line amounts, subtotal, round off and grand total. Type only in yellow cells.
Make your own bill in Excel in 6 steps
- Header rows. Type your shop name in A1, merge across, set font size 16 bold.
- Bill details. Bill No., Date, Customer in rows 3 to 5.
- Item table. Columns: Sr, Particulars, Qty, Rate, Amount. In Amount enter =C8*D8 and copy down.
- Total. Below the table: =SUM(E8:E19).
- Tax lines if registered. CGST =ROUND(total*rate/2/100,2), SGST the same.
- Print setup. Page Layout, Size A4, Fit to 1 page wide. Save as PDF.

Tips
Do
- Protect formula cells.
- Keep one master file and save a copy per bill.
- Keep a sales register sheet.
Avoid
- Do not type totals by hand.
- Do not merge cells in the item table.
Turning the sheet into a bill book
Save one master file, then for each new bill use File, Save As with the bill number as the file name. Keep a separate register sheet with bill number, date, customer and total so you can find any bill quickly and total your monthly sales.
