Tuition fee receipt
Private tutors and coaching classes can use a shorter format: “Received Rs [amount] from [parent] towards tuition fee for [month] for [student], [subject].” Parents may need these receipts for their own records; tuition fee deductions under income tax apply only to fees paid to certain institutions, so do not promise a tax benefit.
Fee receipt book for coaching classes
A simple numbered book with a counterfoil works well: student name, batch, month, amount, mode and signature on both halves. Monthly fees can also be given as one PDF per month from the receipt maker.
Refunds and concessions
If you give a concession or refund, write it on a new receipt or a note referring to the original receipt number. Do not overwrite an issued receipt.
